Challenge #2 – Portrait of a Friend

GROUP OF ART CHALLENGE – ART EXHIBITION

@ Bohemian Cafe & Gallery

Challenge #2 – Portrait of a Friend
Friday August 5th, 7 – 9 pm

In this challenge each of the 24 artists have been teamed up with a friend in the group and asked to create a self portrait each other, which displays their personality and are challenged to share/expose characteristics of their friend in their artwork.

For this challenge I was partnered with gnome maker – Naomi Brinkoff. The first thing I noticed about Naomi was her larger than life smile! So, that’s exactly what I did, I painted her smile at a size of 24 inches by 48 inches. I then overlapped all the writing from her blog with a phototransfer. Looks way better in real life! Go and see it before August 12th! Nom’s and I have decided to switch art pieces, can’t wait to hang my portrait on the wall! Visit Naomi’s blog at http://www.nomshomestudio.blogspot.com/

Light Painting

My husband and I, along with our siblings, went camping this past weekend. I introduced them to the addictiveness of Light Painting. We got some very interesting images using a flash and a flashlight in the dark. If you would like to find out more on how to paint with light, please feel free to contact me!

Light painting can also be done during the day, and can have varying effects depending on your desired outcome. Below are some of my results:

These images are not digitally enhanced in anyway!

Dog Paintings

I have been playing around with painting this week. Here are a few dog paintings I did of Gertie, Sully & Kal.

Feel free to send your pictures of your pets for me to paint… for a price of course! :) If interested just give me a shout via phone or email. They look much better in real life then in a photograph. Both are 12 x 16 inches acrylic on canvas.
