I have now started my second (and last) project for my digital print class. For this one we were given the theme of the index.
Being inspired by “paper dolls”, I really wanted to incorporate this idea into my print project. I also really enjoy taking self portraits, but not just any self portrait of here I am…… but more of putting myself into scenes or images. This idea of self portraits was also done in my last project.
So for this I plan to print 3 layers of colour. Bottom layer black ink, second red ink, top yellow ink, in order to remain within the vintage colours of the paper dolls I had chosen. I have made myself the doll… and I don’t fit into the clothing. I have added the theme of the index by cutting out the clothes, and putting them back together on the page.
So that I don’t tire myself out explaining, below is the digital state of my project! Can’t wait to show you the final result! Please feel free to help me with a title for this one too!

Update: Everyone in the class is having trouble with this process, and since we are all testers for this class we are all trying to figure out what is going wrong. My print is flaking off in the dark areas, meaning I don’t have any hair (both within real life, and within my print, LOL) The final result doesn’t look the same as the image above.. but the colours worked out very well!
